Boaz Ganor (Prof.)

Founder and Executive Director, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT)

Serves as the Founding President at the International Academic Counter-Terrorism Community (ICTAC).

In 2001, appointed as a Member of the Advisory Committee for the Israeli National Security Council on Counter-Terrorism. 

Advised the Israeli delegation for Peace Negotiations with Jordan on Transportation Safety.

Was the Israeli Counter-Terrorism Coordinator for the Prime Minister’s Office and the Israeli Minister of Defence.

Was a member of the International Advisory Team at the Manhattan Institute to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Chairs the ICT International Conferences: World Summit on Counter-Terrorism, and co-directed several research projects for NATO and the Ministry of Public Safety.


Served as Dean and Deputy Dean of the Lauder School of Government Diplomacy & Strategy.

Testified and briefed hundreds of government and security organizations including the UN Counter-Terrorism Executive Doctorate, Australian Parliament, US Congress, US Army, FBI, US Department of Homeland Security. 

Authored books and published articles on Counter-Terrorism.


Shabtai Shavit

Chairman, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) Board of Directors

Chairman of the ICT Board of Directors since 2001.

Director of Mossad, Israel's Intelligence Services (1989 to 1996).

Held a variety of positions within the Mossad for over 32 years. 

Served in "Sayeret Matkal" - Israel's Elite Force.

Advisor to the Israeli National Security Council, Advisor to the Sub-Committee on Intelligence of the Knesset, Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Security.


Dr. Eitan Azani, Colonel (Res)

Director of Research, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT)

Previously served as the Deputy Executive Director of ICT.

Colonel (Res.) in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Operational, research and academic experience in regional and international counter-terrorism arenas. 

Lectures at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy at IDC Herzliya, and to numerous public and private security organizations.


Nitzan Nuriel, Brig. Gen. (Res)

Associate, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT)

In 2001 appointed Military Attaché at the Embassy of Israel in Washington DC.

Brig. Gen. (Res) in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)

Former director of the Counter-Terrorism Bureau of at the Prime Minister's office (2007-2012).

Responsible for developing and implementing a national policy and for cyber, borders protection, international corporations, border crossing, cargo security, aviation security, and advanced technology for the public security.

Assisted with security at the Olympic winter games in Canada, established numerous red teams, and managed many international war game and round table exercises. 


Tzachi Stromza

Was Director of Security (rank equivalent to General) at the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), Israel’s Domestic Intelligence Agency.

Was the Director of Security for El Al Airlines after working his way up from field positions to top level management and command.

Graduated from the MA Program in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Centre (IDC) Herzilya.
